Grading Policy
Grades
Sixth grade uses the standard letter grades system, A-F, for academic grading. The scale is below:
A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = 60-69%
F = Below 60%
Behavior grades use the ESNU system: Excellent, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement, Unsatisfactory.
Re-do Opportunity
If a student scores 69% or below on a graded assignment, he/she has the opportunity to re-do the assignment to earn a higher grade. This also allows the student to re-learn the material and see what mistakes were made. The new grade is an average of the former grade and the re-done grade. For instance, a 50% and 100% would be averaged for a final grade of 75%.
Re-do opportunities are not available for long-term projects.
Late / Missing Work
No late work will be accepted. All work is expected to be turned in completed, to the best of the student's ability, and on-time. Any late/missing work will result in an automatic 50% in the gradebook.
As stated on the Class Info page, late or missing Home Practice will be expected to be completed by the next day.
